Balkan is a buffet-style restaurant on strada Fiodor Seliviorstov, towards the edge of the centre in Cahul. You choose from the trays, in plain sight, and the hours say everything about the profile: open daily from eight in the morning to four in the afternoon, with breakfast. It is a lunch stop, not an evening one — practical if you are crossing southern Moldova towards the border. It has no terrace, but the entrance and the dining room are wheelchair accessible, parking in the courtyard and on the street is free, and prices sit in the mid range. Dogs are not admitted.
