For Romanian citizens
Romanian citizens may enter the Republic of Moldova on a national identity card or a passport, without a visa, for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

For EU citizens
EU citizens may enter Moldova on a passport, without a visa, for tourist stays of up to 90 days.
Documents worth carrying
- A valid identity card or passport
- Travel medical insurance (recommended)
- Proof of accommodation (it can be asked for at the border)
- Enough money for your stay
At the border
- Waiting times vary: early morning and evening are quieter
- You fill in an entry form (sometimes electronically)
- Private cars need motor insurance valid in Moldova
