Internet and WiFi
WiFi is widely available in hotels, cafés, restaurants and public spaces in the towns. The connection is generally good and fast.
A local SIM
For cheap mobile data, buy a local SIM card from one of the main networks:
- Orange
- Moldcell
- Moldtelecom / Unite
SIMs are sold in the operators’ shops, in shopping centres and sometimes at the airport. You will usually need an identity document to buy one.
Roaming
If you are using your home SIM, check your roaming rates with your operator before you travel, since Moldova may fall outside the EU roaming zone.
