Teatrul Republican „Luceafărul"

A central stage with a profile of its own

„Luceafărul" is one of Chișinău's republican stages, based at 7 Strada Veronica Micle. The area is central but tucked away: you are not on the boulevard but on a quieter street, a few minutes south of Piața Marii Adunări Naționale.

The name refers to Eminescu's symbol, and the institution's profile is that of a drama theatre with a tradition behind it. The repertoire is announced by season.

The timetable, with one important exception

Here is the detail many people miss: the theatre has stated hours of 11:00–17:00 Monday to Friday and on Sunday, but Saturday is the day off.

That inverts what you would expect — at most cultural institutions, Saturday is the busiest day. If you are planning a cultural weekend in the capital, move the theatre visit to Sunday or Friday.

The 11:00–17:00 timetable refers to the institution's office hours, not to performance times, which follow the season's playbill.

Where you are

7 Strada Veronica Micle, roughly 650 metres from Piața Marii Adunări Naționale. Bulevardul Ștefan cel Mare, the main artery, is a few minutes' walk to the north.

You can walk here from anywhere in the centre. Parking in the area is limited, as it is throughout Chișinău's central perimeter.

Accessibility

The auditorium has an adapted toilet for disabled visitors. No accessible parking or specially adapted entrance is listed, so if you need easy access, contact the theatre beforehand.

The venue is marked as suitable for children; check the recommended age for each production in the repertoire.

Building your day

The central position allows a full programme on foot. The day is spent on the classic central route — the square, the boulevard, the parks to the west — leaving the evening for the performance.
