Castel Mimi
Castel Mimi is one of the finest and most admired wineries in Moldova, noted internationally for its architecture. Built in 1893 by Constantin Mimi, the last governor of Bessarabia, the castle has been extensively restored and turned into a wine complex of international standing.
The architecture combines the neo-Gothic style with modern elements, and the interiors are as striking as the exteriors. The castle houses a boutique hotel, a fine-dining restaurant, tasting rooms, a wine museum and formal gardens.
Castel Mimi wines are awarded internationally, with an emphasis on native varieties such as Feteasca Neagră and Rară Neagră, as well as international classics — Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay.
